Magento Backend Contractor
I run the development team at Floor Giants in Derby across three Magento stores, and I take a small amount of fractional backend and advisory work alongside that. I do not take full time contract roles, so if you need someone in a seat for six months this is the wrong page. The work I do take is short. Someone has a Magento backend that has become hard to change and wants a plan for it.
The backend work at Floor Giants is the same kind of work. The team maintains three stores, an Odoo integration and the tooling around them. Vendor fixes go through composer patches, each one logged against the upstream issue so we know what to re-check on upgrade. A security patch gets to production in under an hour. We now have automated CI and testing across all three stores.
In an engagement I set the plan and review the output. Your team does the build. That keeps the knowledge with the people who will run the platform after I have gone. Most of what I get asked about is integrations between Magento and an ERP or payment provider, and the release process around them. Checkout performance comes up too.

Can you join an active Magento project quickly?
For advisory work, yes. I can review a roadmap or a release process within a few days. I do not join projects as a full time developer.
Do you cover both delivery and architecture decisions?
I cover architecture and delivery planning. Implementation stays with your team, with me reviewing the pull requests and the release if that is useful.
Can you help with short term cover?
For lead level cover, yes. I can stand in on planning, reviews and release decisions while you hire. I cannot fill a developer seat.
